The Signal Man by Charles Dickens
adapted into a new play by Simon Blake
Directed by Ali May
"Halloa! Below there!"
Step into a chilling Victorian mystery at Barnes Green Centre this winter.
The Barnes Community Players present a spine-tingling performance of Charles Dickens' gothic short, The Signal Man (adapted by Simon Blake) on December 10th and 11th.
Inspired by the trauma Dickens suffered after surviving the horrific 1865 Staplehurst rail disaster, this psychological thriller delves into the mind of a lonely rail worker haunted by terrifying apparitions.
The Signalman works alone, deep in an isolated railway cutting, consumed by visions past and present. As tension mounts and the phantom bell rings, what is real, and what is a trick of the mind?
